Meet The Artist

Hi friends!

My name is Tarra and I'm super glad that you're here!

For 15 rewarding years, I worked as a professional veterinary technician in the Ottawa area. I spent my days - and many long nights - surrounded by animals! Comforting them, caring for them and witnessing firsthand the profound, unbreakable bonds they share with their people. Medicine taught me patience, sharp observation and a deep respect for every creatures unique spirit.

When I chose to transition out of the profession, I knew I needed some much needed time to decompress and find myself again. So, my partner Mel, along with our amazing companions Stewie (our dog) and Penny (our cat), packed up and embarked on a trip of a lifetime - a year long road trip adventure across North America. Living simply on the road gave me the space to reset, heal and reconnect with what truly mattered.

The deep devotion I have to animals never left me - in fact, it shaped the foundation of everything I do today.

My mission is to honour the unspoken connections we have with our cats dogs and other animal family members. Because I know they aren't just pets - they are family - I pour hours of meticulous love into every single portrait, striving to capture their quirks and what made them who they are/were.

When I'm not drawing, you can find me on my YouTube channel sharing art time-lapses while I discuss pet care tips and animal advocacy.

Thank you for trusting me with your memories, your stories, and the souls you love so dearly. I can't wait to help you honour them

Giving Back To The Animals

My dedication to animals doesn't stop at the edge of the paper. Having spent years in veterinary medicine and rescue spaces, I've seen firsthand how many animals are waiting for a second chance, a soft bed, and a family to call their very own.

That's why a portion of every single portrait commission is proudly donated to local pet rescues.

Beyond financial support, I also love contributing custom pet portraits directly to rescue fundraisers and silent auctions, helping organizations raise crucial funds to care for animals in transition.

When you commission a piece to honour your own furry family member, you're helping shelter pets find their way home while lifting up the community that fights for them. Every animal deserves to be cherished, protected and deeply loved.
